By focusing on our personal interpretation, we risk distorting the Scripture's intended message. We need to reassess our approach – and ask "What does this passage mean?"

Remember the words of 2 Timothy 3:16, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness."

If we accept this as truth, then we must acknowledge that God intended a specific interpretation for each passage in the Bible.

The Dangers of Misinterpretation

- Get your hands on respected commentaries and Bible study guides.
- Seek advice from spiritual mentors and church leaders.
- Compare Scripture with Scripture. As Isaiah 28:10 tells us, "For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little."
